Nico Nico Rubio
 
Nico Rubio, a native to Chicago, has been tap dancing less than a decade performing and teaching around the U.S. and now the world. He is currently performing with S.A.C. (Sour Apples Crew) and most recently Jus'LisTeN. Nico is a former member of M.A.D.D. Rhythms with whom he has done shows throughout much of the Chicago Metropolitan area and U.S. He has traveled throughout his career to Los Angeles, St. Louis, Indiana, Iowa, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Michigan and even Beijing, China. Nico is currently teaching tap dance around Illinois at The RH School of Performing Arts, Légere Dance Centre, Deforest Dance Academy and other studios as well as after school programs at Andrew Carnegie Elementary and Paul Revere Elementary School.

Nico Rubio has appeared on television in the opening segment for CLTV at the Taste of Chicago, a promotional documentary for the Chicago Park District, Local L.A. news channels (for the L.A. Tap Festival in the summers of 2004-2007), ABC 7 Chicago for the grand opening of their new State Street Studio, Channel 9 for the Premier of Happy Feet at Navy Pier and recently starred in Chicago Works TV segment “Chicago Revealed” which played every day for over a month. He has appeared in Newspapers and Magazines such as the Red Eye, Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Dailey Harold, Defender, The Beacon, The Forest Park Review, Dance Spirit Magazine, Dancer Magazine, Dance Magazine and On Tap (ITA) Magazine. Nico was also the winner of the first annual Cutting Contest at CHRP and in his age group at the L.A. Tap Festival. He has been giving back for over 5 years by street performing on the Chicago streets and CTA platforms collaborating with artist such as Clarinet players, Drummers, Saxophone players, Dancers, Rappers and even face painters. Nico has also studied skills from drawing to acting, rapping to stage handing and even playing the "Prince" in Ballet Legere's Nutcracker for two years. Nico is proud to be a tap dancer and preacher of the art form through his love of the dance!
